For login on SaneBox.com you just need to be logged into your email account in another tab of the same web browser first. If you aren't, our system will direct you through the OAuth process when you click to log in on our site.
You might recall that during your SaneBox account signup, users of Gmail or free Microsoft hosted email, or Yahoo, or AOL, never create a separate password for access to their SaneBox account on our site. This includes msn.com or hotmail.com or live.com free email accounts - unless you started using SaneBox before Microsoft added OAuth to the hotmail.com or msn.com systems.
The OAuth login facilities built into your Google, Yahoo, free Microsoft hosted account, and AOL, do the heavy lifting and eliminate the need for a separate password for our site.
This is also true for most Google Apps hosted addresses unless your administrator set things up without OAuth. In that case, you *would* have a password for logging into your dashboard on our site and you would have the option to reset it with us.
- During an OAuth handled login, it might seem as if you're granting new permissions, but this is really just a repeat or encore performance of the same steps you completed during SaneBox signup.
- Users of Microsoft Office365 hosted email subscriptions don't use OAuth at this time and will have a password for direct login on our site.
- With OAuth based login to sanebox.com, our own password reset process does not apply. This is simply because there's nothing on our end to reset.
