Gmail Specific: What does the message "We cannot access your [Gmail]/Spam folder" mean?

This message indicates you have hidden your Spam folder in Gmail.

To unhide it, go to your Settings page in Gmail.

Click the box next to Show in IMAP for your Spam label. Here is a screenshot of where to click.
